SESSION I
3 days

Change and Systems Thinking
Participants will study and analyze the concepts of Change and Systems Thinking within the context of district- and school-level reform aimed at significantly increasing student achievement.

 

SESSION II
2 days

Collaborative Culture and Leading Change
Participants will explore the elements of a collaborative culture that supports student achievement in schools and the role they must play in leading change within their schools and communities.

 

 

SESSION III & IV
2 days & 2 days

Data and Assessment
Participants will explore and evaluate the uses of data collection and analysis to improve student achievement.  In addition, participants will interpret and critique student assessment data that can be used to guide teaching and learning.

 

SESSION V
2 days

Power Standards
Participants will be introduced to the Power Standards concepts as a practical process for identifying and teaching the standards that are most critical for student achievement.

 

 

SESSION VI
2 days

Student Achievement Project Proposal Development and Graduation
During the final session, District and Building teams will have an opportunity to develop their student achievement project proposals and receive feedback from their fellow program participants and faculty.  Participants will have an opportunity to celebrate their efforts and achievements in building capacity for improved instructional practices this year.
